7000 Series Configurations
The 7000 series direction finder utilizes the same direction finding processor in all configurations. The antenna selection determines if the direction finder is used as a fixed site or a mobile. Mobile homing can be accomplished using the a processor, a mobile antenna, and the MPT user interface. Fixed site triangulation requires at least two sites (three or more are preferable see xxx for site selection guidance). Mobile geolocation requires a processor, a mobile antenna, a GPS receiver, and a laptop running our SignalTrack application. Geolocation can be accomplished by driving to different locations and taking bearings or the mobile can be networked with other fixed and mobile sites.

Receivers
Our radio direction finders can be used with any narrow band FM receiver. The only connections required are to the antenna input and the external speaker output. However, if you want to display the signal strength, a connection is needed to the receiver's RSSI output. Also, if you want to control the receiver using our SignalTrack software one of the following receivers are required.
| Receiver | Calibration | RSSI | Serial Control | Cable Set |
| ICOM R8500 | Default Bearing & RSSI calibration tables stored in DDF7001 |
AGC jack on rear panel | RS232 connector and USB-to-Serial converter connected to DDF7001 |
TBD |
| AOR AR5000 | Default Bearing & RSSI calibration tables stored in DDF7001 |
Special connector on rear panel |
RS232 connector and USB-to-Serial converter connected to DDF7001 |
TBD |
| AOR AR8600 | Default Bearing & RSSI calibration tables stored in DDF7001 |
DIN connector on rear panel |
RS232 connector and USB-to-Serial converter connected to DDF7001 |
TBD |
| ICOM R1500 & R2500 | Default Bearing & RSSI calibration tables stored in DDF7001 |
USB connection to DDF7001 | USB connection to DDF7001 | TBD |
| AOR AR5001D | Customer is required to calibrate to a source at a known location |
Not supported | RS232 connector on rear panel |
TBD |
| AOR SR2200 | Default Bearing & RSSI calibration tables stored in DDF7001 |
USB connection to DDF7001 | USB connection to DDF7001 | TBD |
Note: The frequency control functions in the SignalTrack application requires the use of one of these receivers. Other receivers may be used however, they will need to be manually tuned. Therefore, receivers other than the ones listed above are not recommended for networked applications.
